Google's Ten Golden Rules

Good Newsweek article on Google's Ten Golden Rules via Slashdot. Hard to argue with what works!

My favorite quote..."Don't Be Evil"...which I suppose, as a corollary, means that one can't have an Evil Lair which, as a Fortune 500 Corporate Rock Star has always been something of a dream of mine...hmmm...decisions, decisions...

Folklore.org

Cool site here devoted, at least for now, to folklore surrounding the development of the original Macintosh. I could burn a lot of hours on this site...

Maybe the Best Idea EVER...

"Turn left now, SUCKA!" "You jive fool, you missed the turn! My prediction? PAIN."

Be sure to listen to the audio clips!  Genius!

If the potential for abuse weren't so scary, I'd say this is a great tool for enforcing our borders (using non-lethal weapons…of course…such as  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_range_acoustic_device  or  http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn8275 )

Hotdogspot

If you live in the LA area, please drop whatever you are doing and click over to the Hotdogspot. LOVE this guy!

Hat-tip: la.foodblogging

UPDATE: Did you know that it is National Hot Dog Month in July?

Thank You, Tom Maguire

I was very annoyed during my 20-minute-scarf-lunch-at-your-desk-while-catching-up-on-the-news-break today as I read headline after headline indiscrimately recounting the meme that "Bush has changed his position" or "Bush qualified his statement" with respect to the Rove/Plame leak. Inspired, I took 10 minutes to click around the White House website and run a few Google queries and lo and behold President Bush's statement today meshes perfectly with what he said in Sept 2003 and even jives with what he said in June , despite the media's frantic spinning and parsing.

Of course, at this point, it was time to dial into yet another conference call about national sales and whatnot, and I had no time left to blog what I had discovered. Well, many thanks to Tom Maguire at Just One Minute for staying right on top of it and doing an unquestionably better job at it than I could. Be sure to click on over for the whole scoop.

And, while you're at it, you should read Andrew C. McCarthy's column at NRO which offers up some other useful facts about the whole imbroglio.

Friggin' Bad-ace Burning Man Essential

One of these years I plan to make it to Burning Man, and when I do, I will bring one of these. Sweeet.

Lileks Captures America

What can be said about Lileks that hasn't already been said...the man captures the essence of all that is mid-west, middle-class Americana. Behold, enjoy and savor his latest Bleat.

All I know is that I stayed at several similar Holiday Inns as a child and the smell of an indoor pool on a hot, humid, thunderstormy summer day during tornado season is something to be cherished and held dear for a lifetime. Behold the beauty...
